A desktop app that reads the set on your machine
Page reading, page classification and floor plan detection run on your own hardware instead of a queue, so a big set opens fast and stays fast. It is the same workspace, the same sign-in, the same projects — just faster, in its own window.
Version 0.1.1 · early build, unsigned — macOS and Windows will warn on first launch.
You still sign in the same way. Opening the app the first time takes you to sign-in, and a signed-in account lands straight in your projects — the desktop app is opt-in per person, and nothing changes for the rest of your team in the browser.
Runs on your machine
- Page reading, page classification and floor plan detection
- Files cached to disk, so a reopened set never re-downloads
- Native page rendering for smooth zoom and scroll on dense drawings
- Checks for a new build at launch and periodically after, and asks before restarting
Model calls, price lookups and hardware & finish keyword extraction still run on the server, the same as in the browser.
What stays the same, what runs locally
The desktop app is not a second product: it opens the same web app in its own window, with one native bridge for the parts that benefit from your own hardware. Everything else — the grid, the assistant, pricing, exports, collaboration — is identical to the browser.
- Runs locally, on this computer
- Page facts and thumbnails, page text for search and the assistant, page type classification, and floor plan door & room detection when the local runner is available.
- Stays on the server
- Model calls, price lookups, hardware and finish keyword extraction, and anything a browser teammate on the same project needs to see too.
Bring your next drawing set
Create a workspace for your shop, then open it in the browser or the desktop app — whichever this machine is.
Questions
Do I need an account to use the desktop app?
Yes. Opening it the first time takes you to sign-in, and a signed-in account lands in your projects, the same as the browser. The public home page never shows inside the desktop window.
Will my operating system warn me when I install it?
Yes, for now. This is an early, unsigned build, so macOS Gatekeeper and Windows SmartScreen will warn on first launch.
Does my team need to switch too?
No. The desktop app is opt-in, per person. Everyone else keeps working in the browser exactly as before, on the same projects.
Is there a Linux build?
Not published yet — Mac and Windows only, for now.
